Origin of the Network for Historical Studies in Gender and Social Work

After starting the network at the Bundeskongress in Mainz, Germany, 2001 second conference/network meeting was held at the University of Applied Sciences, St. Gallen/Rorschach, Switzerland. It sought to: to stabilize and support the network; to continue to examine the role of female social workers in both national and international developments and examine the different ways in which social work has been constructed within different jurisdictions.

The Third Network meeting will take place alongside the International Federation for Research in Women's History Conference. As part of its work, the network is offering a one-day programme open to all conference participants. Details of how to become a member and/or submit a paper are provided below.
